Movie Info

Revenge drives this tale of an orphan taken in by a state police officer only to discover that the man who raised him as his own was also the man who savagely gunned down his family. Following the death of his parents in a violent raid by police who are on the trail of a rebel leader, eleven-year-old Altaaf is taken in by kindly officer Inayat Khan and his loving wife Neelima. When Altaff learns that his adoptive father is the same man who gunned down his mother and father years ago, he flees Kashmir to study under the tutelage of rebel leader Hilal Kohistani -- a man determined to fight to the death for Kashmir's independence. Ten years later, Altaff returns with an unquenchable thirst for revenge, but when he unexpectedly reunites with his childhood sweetheart, Sufi, his anger slowly gives way to love -- throwing his lifelong mission to avenge the death of his parents in jeopardy. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovimore

Audience Reviews for Mission Kashmir

An interesting movie that centralizes around revenge, guilt, loss, and a country in turmoil. After losing a young son in an accident, Inayat and Neelima are devastated by the fact that in their own country some doctors are refusing to help anyone working, or associating, with the Indian government. Inayat Khan seeks revenge, and searches for the one man he holds responsible for all deaths and fear. He finds the man and his small militant group hiding in a small village. It is there that young Altaaf loses his family, and is traumatized by the ordeal. Adopted by Inayat and Neelima, Altaaf cannot forget the demise of his family. After realizing the truth, Altaaf leaves the Khan home. After spending ten years away, his ultimate goal is to seek revenge. Great cast- Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni, and Jackie Shroff. Worth seeing!

Very good movie, loved the story line that bring two opposite types to a final justice and peace at the end and even love. It is a long movie but worth the time. May watch again sometime.

I liked it because it shows a different view on love, loyalty, forgiving and accepting. Lots of violence and music. Excellent choreographies and settings.
