MISTRESS OF THE WORLD stars Gino Cervi as Professor Johanson, a scientist who has developed a device for wiping out the electrical power of an area the size of a continent. After a demonstration of his new device goes awry, he and his assistant, Dr. Lin-Cho (Sabu), seemingly decamp to Nice while Johanson's daughter, Karin (Martha Hyer), deals with a press conference on the failed experiment. Afterward, she's given the number of Peter Lundstroem (Carlos Thompson) of the International Police, who informs her that her father and Lin-Cho have been kidnapped. Karin and Peter fly to Nice but are unable to locate the scientists; however, they do learn from local police that the men have been taken to Naples by ship. While in Naples investigating the ship, Karin is kidnapped by the agents of the evil Madame La Tour (Micheline Presle), who is holding the scientists and intends to extract the secret of their device as part of her plan to dominate the world.
