Baldwin's narrative is not easy to followâ"the tone is simultaneously hysterical and uninflectedâ"but, as with any religion or conspiracy theory, his method is characterized by a logic beyond logic.
By turns absorbing, confounding, exhausting and altogether stranger than most fiction, Mock Up on Mu, comes close to defying categorization.
We can rejoice that San Francisco's Craig Baldwin still cuts up Z-movie turds into magnificently obsessive sci-fi collages -- even if his project seems more zine era than blog.
