The lack of plot and lack of action are fatal flaws.

Reviews for The Mod Squad
The predictable result is a sketchy, half-baked, stylistically inconsistent movie that scarcely even pretends to care whether it makes sense or not.
Add another to the scrap heap of hip '60s and '70s TV shows reduced to cinematic rubble by the inspiration-starved minds in Hollywood.
The film simply doesn't deliver anything sufficiently remarkable to distinguish itself from sturdier competition.
The Mod Squad has an intriguing cast, a director who knows how to use his camera and a lot of sly humor. Shame about the story.
Subject yourself to this mindless movie in quantities larger than 30 seconds, and you'll certainly regret it.
Not only is this lurid action-thriller lacking wit and excitement, it almost makes its source material look good by comparison.
Yeah, let's make a movie for the kids ... based on a TV show they've never even heard of.
Some may call this escapist fare -- I call it escape-as-quickly-as-you-can fare.
Writer Scott Silver also directed the film, but obviously had no idea how to convey to his actors any sense of enthusiasm or energy.
Add another one to the scrap heap of trendy, nostalgic, 60's and 70's TV shows reduced to cinematic rubble by the inspiration starved minds in Hollywood.
