Audience Reviews for Moola

An absolutely hilarious movie with an interesting cast. Great story plot. Glow sticks!! Hmmm....that is something I'll definitely look at quite differently now. Gotta see.

It's not Citizen Kane and it's not supposed to be but Mr Most has shown he can stand with the other Happy Days red head in the film making department with Moola. Funny in its premise, the comedy is played subtly and smartly but isn't allowed to overwhelm the surprisingly touching human elements of the story. Raunchy, over the top ridiculousness like the Saturday Night alums or Apatow crew this is not. It stands much closer to the Steel Magnolias and Fried Green Tomatoes camp of heartfelt, human storytelling and it's in this aspect I find it a compelling enough film to have returned to several times. Being miscategorized as a "comedy" along with the "Bovine Beacon" premise creates expectations of a film this was never meant to be, but taken as it is it's a deft little film that I've found to be on of those rare flicks that "grows on you" as I've returned to it from time to time.
