Filmmaker Jean-Jacques Beineix followed up the surprise international success of his first feature, Diva, with this stylish but downbeat drama. A depressing movie. Not because of the numerous characters who have led tragic lives (the film doesnt care about them at all), but because the film had so much potential, but in the end amounted to nothing more than incredibly but empty eye candy.
