Though unpopular with audiences back in 1943, Moon Is Down remains a well-wrought dramatic chronicle of a Norwegian village that stands up to the invading Nazis who tried to enslave them. The film's main problem is that it achieves one of the things it sets out to do: it makes the Norwegians faceless and anonymous.
