Critic Review - Hollywood Reporter

It merely recycles 1987's Broadcast News with only a single reference to YouTube.

Oh no, I was hoping for at least six Youtube references. Count me out of this one!

The fact that you think YouTube has anything to do with news speaks volumes. TMZ, maybe. National Enquirer, absolutely.

"So why isn't this movie focusing on what you'd really have to do to get out of a ratings basement?" Because the show itself is a MacGuffin. It's like concentrating on the center of a pie chart - it's all about the edges.

How dumb are you? Really kid read the whole review. When he's saying that it only has one reference to youtube, he's trying to say that the film is not modern enough. Generic, old times and not as hip as it should be.

No, the reviewer is desperately trying to SOUND hip...thus the Youtube reference.

You clearly didn't read the review. If you are actually claiming you did that's even worse, because it would then be clear you have zero reading comprehension skills.

How disappointing the film sounds.

I believe from reading the (whole) review that he's claiming this script is basically just a Broadcast News retread with a few modern touches thrown in (like the mention of YouTube) to distinguish it from the earlier, superior film. I don't think he's saying that constantly mentioning YouTube would have improved the picture. That said, I'm still seeing this. It looks good to me.
