To fuel his obession, he runs away from home and hits the road in his father's Ford Mustang convertible, only to encounter a bizarre cast of characters (played by the likes of Drew Barrymore, Meat Loaf Aday, Garrett Morris, Susan Tyrell, Jack Nance, Flea, and Dick Miller, among others) along the way.
