Video Exclusive: Maria Bello, Brendan Fraser and the Mummy 3 Cast Talk to RT
The Dragon Emperor cast and director sit down with us.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is the latest instalment of the ridiculously successful Mummy franchise and this time around the action has switched from ancient Egypt to slightly-less-ancient China, with the O'Connell family accidently re-awakening Jet Li's villainous Chinese emperor who is, naturally, bent on world domination. RT spoke to the stars of the film - Brendan Fraser, Maria Bello, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Luke Ford & Isabella Leong - and director Rob Cohen to find out more. Check out the video interviews below!

Still waiting to see Mummy 3. The fact that Rob Cohen took the director's chair and the worse than anticipated reviews have shaken my hope in this popcorn movie and franchise.

Why are they still promoting this movie with these press junkets? The movie sucks! The critics know it and the audience knows it. Hopefully, the 60% drop-off this weekend will lay this franchise to rest.

contrary to the negativity, so far every person i've talked to who's seen said they were pleasantly surprised. is it possible that maybe critics are missing the fact that the films are supposed to be campy and cheesy? (lord knows THAT never happens *sigh*) i dunno, i'll have to wait till i see it myself. definitely not passing judgment until then though.

I saw it yesterday. ...Really wasn't as bad as you all make it out to be.
Was no award-winner sure, but it wasn't intended to be. The movie is made to be a cheap action thriller, and that's what it was.

To compare 'The Mummy' to 'Raiders' would be wrong (itself a poor rip-off), to compare 'The mummy 3' to 'Raiders' is... well... i pity you.
P.S. We all agree with you that we liked HOOW that turned out.

yeah... i loved the first 2 and i had some really high hopes for this one so that they could make a couple more, but after this one im not so convinced that this is the best idea. I mean i want more mummy movies, i just want them to be as good as or hopefully better than the origionals

Rob Cohen and his producers were not interested in making a good movie. The acting was bad and the script was just plain boring, cliche and amateur. Rob and his people knew that would ca$h big time if they only relied on nostalgia from the first two Mummy movies, Jet Li, weaving in China into the plot ( Beijing Olympics, DUH!) and overworked CGI effects.

What made the movie worse was having Maria Bello play Mrs. O'connell. Oh lord have mercy! her accent fluctuated, sounded forced and was just plain horrible. And the scene in which she tried to seduce her Brendan Fraser in that white gown, W T F? that was just bad acting. It's almost like Rob fell asleep every time Maria Bello was acting. Apparently, he fell asleep in the editing room too. And what was up with Brendan Fraser? he looked bored through out the entire movie. Almost like he just woke up from sleep. Jet Li too looked bored. He probably just did it for the money. O'connell's son equally looked bored, Michelle Yeoh equally appeared bored and the Chinese actors also looked bored. Even the dead creatures in the movie looked like they were over it. The only person with some enthusiasm was John Hannah. Considering the fact that he hasn't had substantial work in a while, I don't blame him for being happy about such a mess. What a shame!

I know of people who downloaded this movie (MUMMY 3) illegally and EVEN FOR FREE couldn't stand to see it from beggining to end!!!

Now 'that' (if nothing else) should give you an idea about how terrible this movie is.

The first Mummy was more entertaining than all Indy movies combined. The second was a lot of fun, but it went overboard with the CG. The third is just horrible. Recasting Rob Cohen = instant suckage.
