Season two saw the characters and relationships click: Fozzie is loveable and insecure, Miss. Piggy is a control-freaked frog-lover and Kermit is the calm-headed ringmaster.

Some guest stars relate to Muppets better than others, but this second season sparkles with great music, funny skits and lovably bizarre characters.

The show remains as fresh and as laugh-out-loud funny today as it did when it first premiered in 1976. Who knew that one of pop culture's most enduring love affairs would be between a frog and a pig?
