With a script as solid as Superman's grip and a cast funnier than the entire Justice League of America, it's no mystery why this send-up of some not - so - superheroes is so enjoyable!

Enter the Mystery Men:... When Captain Amazing, chief superhero of Champion City, is kidnapped by insane supervillain Casanova Frankenstein, who will save the city and ensure that justice is served? Enter the Mystery Men: Mr. Furious, The Bowler, The Blue Raja, The Shoveler, The Spleen, The Sphinx, and the Invisible Boy- a group of misfits in possession of superpowers...sort of. Watch the mayhem ensue, as this wacky team goes up against Frankenstein and his mad henchmen. This adaptation of the popular Dark Horse comic strikes a weird comic tone which is heightened by great production design and fun performances by all involved. This is the first feature from director Usher, who previously directed commercials ("Got Milk?"). [More]

Reviews for Mystery Men
For a movie that seems to be spoofing such comic-book based action films as Batman, etc., Mystery Men is a delightful change of pace.
A dream comic ensemble and an almost foolproof satiric concept gets Mystery Men through.
This affectionate and astute mockery of the big-budget, star-studded, sci-fi/fantasy crime-thriller genre boasts genius, cameo-bursting casting and frequently hilarious writing.
Those in the mood for an offbeat satire with a gifted cast will have a surprisingly good time.
