Voight's Got New Family Issues in National Treasure 2
Papa's got a brand new conspiracy theory.

In National Treasure, Jon Voight played the father skeptical of his son's crazy historical adventures. Now that he's part of the team in National Treasure: Book of Secrets, he'll have all new family issues.

"It's a different take on it but I still have dilemma," said Voight. "I have a problem because I have a wife that I haven't seen for 32 years. I don't want to see her now. That's my dilemma and I have to face her after all these years. She's played by the great Helen Mirren."

This gives Voight's character a more central role in the sequel. "I have a little more to do, yeah. I think a little more this time."

Voight's in for some big action too. Near the end of the shoot, the biggest sequence was looming. "We're coming to the last sequences which is this huge sequence on a big set we're working at Universal. I think it's going to be terrific."

National Treasure: Book of Secrets will emerge in theaters December 21.

haha! I'm trying to imagine Voight doing "big action" scenes, but I just can't, at least, at this hour. :) Hmmm. Anyway, I'm excited. Should be fun.

The only way I can imagine Jon Voight doing action scenes is if falls 10 secinds into it and yells "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!"

I liked the first National Treasure, and I'll be looking forward to this one.

you know what drove me crazy about this first movie? you know when they had the glasses that let them see the secret stuff written on the map? They did everything they could to avoid calling them "glasses." they called them "spectacles" and "ocular devices" but never once called them glasses.

anyway, this movie looks corn-tacular

Wow! A sequel to an average movie! What a great idea! Hollywood should make more pointless sequels cos we just never see enough of them! Yay!

I still can't believe Helen Mirren is going to pull a Halle Berry.

I hope you mean "pull a Halle Berry" in a Swordfish sort of way. Me-ow.
