I don't suppose you could expand on this please? I assume you're partly referring to the OTT violence, but isn't this beneficial in depicting the characters' insanity?

Utterly empty, what a ****ing tool. This movie presents a pretty good ****ing look at American culture, there's alot more here than just blood and drugs

It pretends to portray American culture, especially our love of violence & TV News "if it bleeds it leads" mindset. But it appears Stone is just using these as an excuse to show more of what he complains about...
