What he meant was,

"It grows far too intelligent and superbly crafted for my miniscule brain, I much prefer The Last Airbender."

This review fails, because his simplistic mind wasn't intellectually capable of following along with an awesome animation film with great poetic naturalistic message. This awesome film contains amazing visuals, great voice acting and a heart wrenching story that people 12 and up should be able to enjoy without getting to confused.

Enjoy Beastly Bitch.

You guys above are such movie elitists, holy shit. A plot can be intricate and deep, but they can just become straight up convoluted. I loved this movie, but I had the same feeling when I saw this several times. The story didn't compare to the animation. But I guess I'm just a jack-ass for thinking this way.

Speaking for myself the plot seems rather simple, and I'm not sure how someone can see it as convoluted.

In my opinion the writer of this review is entitled to his opinion.
The thing is, if you want to make a proffesional review from a scala of different things (in this case movies) you have to be either one of these things: 1. a person with intrest on the certain type and/or subject the of movie or 2. Be able to view the movie as objective.
The reviewer fails at both these standpoints in this movie, he is not a fan of the deep japanese spiritual styled animation and neither can he keep his proffesional opionion objective.

Therefore, i do not mind him giving this movie a low grade cause i simply do not hold any value in his review.

No one reviews anything objectively, that's the whole point. But he knows enough about what does and doesn't make up the trappings of a good movie to be a professional critic. What have you done with your life? Besides bitch and moan and lecture others about the metaphysical nature of subjectivity because your gay fanboy movie of the moment got crapped on.

Three other miyazaki reviews I see on his site...all of them negative and whining about the film being overly long.

Get yourself on some Ritalin, dude.

Why do so many critics say that these films are confusing and tug on the attention spans when I watched a lot of these when I was only a little child and I never once was confused? And for pete's sake I'm no movie critic but these are in no way "too complicated" for Americans. Unless I'm smarter than most of them.
