Er... "In the Mouth of Madness" had nothing to do with Stephen King. It was in fact an homage to (not an adaptation of) the works of H. P. Lovecraft on behalf of John Carpenter. Moreover, while I think it loses steam in the final act, it is up to that point a genuinely frightening film. But again, King had no part in it whatsoever. Just a word to the wise...

PS: You're right about the other films though; they suck out loud.
