At 25, Josie Geller is the youngest copy editor at the Chicago Sun-Times, and the obvious choice to go undercover on a story about what the "cool kids" of high school are up to. A dorky teen dubbed "Grossie Josie" the first time around, this time Josie is required to make friends with the popular kids in order to deliver on her assignment. Unfortunately, now that Josie has come into her own as an intelligent young woman with a career and a brain in her head, those aren't the people she's interested in; as she begins to develop feelings for a teacher she's been ordered to portray badly, things start to get really complicated! Will Josie redeem herself from the mistakes she made in her high school years, or will she find herself repeating them all over again? [More]

Reviews for Never Been Kissed
The flashback-Josie is so grotesque, and the present-tense-Josie so unbelievable that "Never Been Kissed" is essentially an exercise in humiliation.
The material is pretty much the same as She's All That and the other recent high school movies, but Barrymore has the big screen stuff to pull it off.
Es de esas cintas que debieron de irse directo al video y mejor deberían dejarle el lugar en la cartelera a trabajos realmente valiosos
If I see one more high school movie that uses a Literature class Shakespeare lesson as a metaphor for raging hormones and whatever else the screenwriter is trying to put across, I swear I'm going to throttle someone.
It has some warm and humorous spots, but not enough to overcome its many obstacles.
The heart-affecting finale of Never Been Kissed turns the sports shrine of the pitcher's mound into a shrine for love.
Do nineties filmmakers forget what it was like to be a teenager, and call upon "Saved By the Bell" reruns for a refresher course?
The movie's screenplay is contrived and not blindingly original, but Barrymore illuminates it with sunniness, and creates a lovable character.
A lively tribute to the awkwardness and power of adolescent girlhood.
