New Orleans (1947)
Covering nearly four decades, this story is a fanciful re-creation of the "birth" of American jazz music. Nick Duquesne owns a posh gambling house in turn-of-the-century New Orleans. When the "good" people of the town force Duquesne out, he relocates in Chicago, where he discovers a demand for hot jazz.
