Stan Lee, Disney Commit to Three Films
POW!
by Jeff Giles | April 03, 2008
Discuss Article
Stan Lee might be 85 years old, but he's showing no signs of slowing down.

Variety reports that Lee's POW! Entertainment has inked a deal with Disney to set up three projects -- titled Nick Ratchet, Blaze, and Tigress -- based on characters developed by Lee. The agreement comes on the heels of a first-look deal between Disney and POW! that the companies signed in June 2007. From the article:

"Nick Ratchet" will be directed by Richard LaGravenese ("P.S. I Love You") from a screenplay he is writing. Larry Jacobson and Sonny Grosso are in talks to produce.

"Blaze" is being penned by Gary Goldman ("Next").

"Tigress" is being written by newcomer Zoe Green. State Street Pictures' Robert Teitel and George Tillman will produce. Film is not the same as a previously announced project titled "Tigress" that Lee is developing with Michelle Rodriguez attached to star. That project is based on a "Conan the Barbarian" villainess.

According to Lee, "it's not unlikely" that the films could inspire comic book spinoffs; as he tells Variety, "You either have a great comic book and it becomes a great movie. Or you have a great movie that becomes a great comic book. These things have a natural progression."

Or you have great comic books that become crappy movies, or you have great movies that become crappy comic books.

Lets not ignore the most common possibilities that have already occurred way too many times.

Or crappy movies (which I'm sure these will be) that become crappy comic books.

lol, Jfearins, I can't believe RT lets you use that .gif

yeah...I agree with all the above... you can probably count good movies from good comic books on one hand... or even maybe on 3 fingers... Batman Begins, Sin City, 300. I can't think of anything else... maybe the 1st Blade...

I enjoy the first two Blades. That's weird that he has two different Tigress movies being made. Very cool that Rodriguez finally has another staring role in one of them, hopefully she keep herself out of trouble for awhile.

Jfearins your Avatar is an inspiration and i salute you for

having such vision for beauty. And oh can we all wish that any of Stan

Lee's future movies can be as interesting;) Someone needs to tell Stan he

is truely damaging his legacy with this continuous run of horrific work.
