Kai-lan is an upbeat and rambunctious Chinese-American preschooler who gets in all sorts of adventures with her friends, family, and animal buddies. The cast of characters includes her grandpa YeYe, who passes on age-old Chinese traditions; Tolee, a koala you can count on; and Rintoo, a tiger who sometimes bites off more than he can chew.
