Balls of Fury Writers Working on Night At The Museum 2

It made a billion dollars and I can't remember talking to ONE person who actually liked it. But you knew it was coming. The ball is rolling on another Night at the Museum.

And I'd be willing to bet that's what they call it, too: "Another Night at the Museum." Because that's what passes for clever these days.

OK, I'll put the sarcasm away. According to Dark Horizons, screenwriters Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon (who have Balls of Fury on the way) have confessed: Yes, they've started in on the sequel's screenplay. Then again, Night at the Museum was a pretty big step up from their other screenplays. Shield your eyeballs and then scan those credits. Yep, the same guys who co-created the hilarious Reno 911! and The State -- also co-wrote Taxi, The Pacifier, Herbie: Fully Loaded, and Let's Go to Prison. I'm not sure if Ben Stiller is signed yet, but that shouldn't be a problem. That guy will do just about any flick for a paycheck. (And how the heck did the Reno 911! movie turn out so rotten?)

Having said all that, the Balls of Fury trailer did make me chuckle a few times -- about five months ago. But back to the main issue: Another Night at the Museum? Who's up for that? Be honest. The first flick didn't gross $250 million by itself.

I saw A Night at the Museum and I thought that it was just okay. I really don't see the point of making another one though. Must we make a sequel to every movie that makes decent cash? I know I won't be seeing it.

Ben stiller's problem is that he plays the EXACT same character in every movie.

I'd love to see him be....I don't know.....someone else?

I'm thinking Ben Stiller as Hal Jordan in the new Justice League movie. That'll be a change... maybe.

why should ben stiller be someone else when all the films he does earn $? Look at Ferrell and Carrey...when these guys do things other then their normal stuff, it either flops or is critically appraised and still flops

actually I thought NATM was fine, nothing fantastic but I thought it achieved what ever it sought to, and was perfectly watchable. But I'll tell you what I'm sick of, the RT people here telling me exactly what I should think about a movie before it's ever made. this article sounds like the same thing I would read on any personal blog from your average fan boy. and I'm not knocking fan boys, I count my self among their ranks, but I'd like a bit of objectivity on the articles, then let all the blow hards like my self draw our own pompous conclusions on the comments sections.

Ben Stiller has gotten plenty of laughs out of me... I just want to see Cable Guy again because I havn't seen it since it came out, and Ben Stiller directed it.

NATM wasn't as bad as people say it was but it definitely doesn't need a sequel. Why does Hollywood feel compelled to run everything into the ground?

The words as to why this is getting made...Other...peoples...kids. Other peoples bastard spawn puke and snot machines own the movie industry now adays and have no taste in film and basically revel in stupidity. Please join me in partaking in smoking, drinking, swearing and tastefully nudity at the next show you go to. See if we can't drive the pre-pubescent, Shrek lovin, Paris Hilton worshippin little fascist crap factories from our cinemas. If we work really hard at it I think we can return the movie theater to it's rightful owners that of course being mysoganistic single nerds, guys looking to score a cheap feel with their girls, and parents hoping for 5 seconds away from the aforementioned biggest mistakes of their lives.

Thanks for taking a huge dump on children who really don't know any better. Keep in mind you were a child once. Or was that not too long ago?

If you don't like it, don't see it. Simple as that. I, for one, will most certainly not see it. There you go.

Why beat this film up?

Was it not exactly what it claimed to be?

And why oppose a sequel when it will also be exactly what it sets out to be?

Sometimes I wonder why someone who doesn't like these blockbuster films would even review them...I always get a kick out of a negative review such as those for TMNT that starts out something like: "First of all let me say Ive never been a big Ninja Turtles fan..."

These films have a place and that place is the family market. If this isn't your market then save your reviews for films in your own demographic. I take my kids to the theater every few months and it turns out this one was perfect for what we wanted...it was fun and we wanted fun...I wasn't looking for Citizen Kane and at the same time I didn't want some stupid Disney film about a child trying to break out of his supressed/ formerly rebellious father wing.

With all that said, I would be surprised if I see Another night at the museum but I'll take another Lemony Snicket.

ok, to ol' boy who put FERRELL in the same words as jim carrey...settle down bra. carrey is a better ALL around actor, and hands DOWN a better comedian than ferrell. they're not even on the same planet in terms of skillz in being universally funny.

i loved night at the museum. it reminded me of toy story, when you were a kid and wished your toys REALLY came to life. almost the same concept, cept with...duh, a museum. problem is...ALOT, i mean AAAALOT of people hate stiller's comedy because well, he's very much the same comedian in every one of his movies and if you don't like one, you ASSUME you won't like others. same type of humor, same type of laughs...but even with Museum, i've had friends who don't like him...love this movie. i'm all for a sequel, as long as its soon and executed well...IE, doesn't WREAK of $ hungry execs.

bigbrother...PLEASE get a life dude. you're ramblin' away, blaming kids for your intellectual issues and controlling demeanor. if you want smart films...go to the indie theater in your city. ALL movies are made to ENTERTAIN, in some way. not just to entertain YOU. bringing kids into it, and blaming them i ASSUME is a joke. or else you're STILL that sad little kid sitting by himself at the lunch table...and taking it out on everybody else because he's not cool and doesn't fit in. its obvious since YOU don't seem to like every big budget movie out this summer. if thats the case, grow up. life sucks, you don't get what you want...and face it, some movies suck...and some movies suck even worse. GET OVER IT
