i disagree. Have you seen him in shutter island or watchmen. I didnt much like the latter however its not his fault the screenplay was subpar. I love the old movies but i think he did just as well of a job playing krug. I liked his portrayal just not the whole backstory bleh.

Believe me, Haley used his crappy Rorschach voice. To me Freddy is a monster that can be only stopped by Jason, but Haley's portrayal of this classic horror icon made me disappointed. Freddy was bland and not done well in this, So I have to go with Steve on this one

i believe to two different portrayals of Freddy both have equal strong and weak points against one another.

If everyone involved with this film actually cared about it, even a little bit, then I think Haley could have been Englund's equal, but sadly, no one cared. That's obvious. Haley's protrayal of Freddy is the only thing that saves the film, if you ask me... Well, maybe 'save' isn't the right word to use but you know what I mean...

Why have they chosen to use this section of the review. It's a fairly short one (just 3 paragraphs) but there are more than just that sentence that display what he thought of the film better, for example:

'The film is surprisingly effective'. There done!
