The sparkling Nine Nation Animation reminded me of the value and pleasure of such collections.
Most of the shorts in this international collection are somber or wistful, but a few stand out for their wit or visual panache.
For dabblers and aficionados alike, the compilation "Nine Nation Animation" is an eye-opening movie and a rare treat...
A traveling road-show of (duh) nine shorts from nine countries that gets points for both style and content.
First-rate compilation Nine Nation Animation sprawls not just in terms of geography but technique, theme, style and tone, offering a filling multicourse meal for the discerning grownup toon fan.
If nothing else, Nine Nation Animation proves that there's a lot more to the animator's art than either the cutting-edge ultra-realism of Pixar or the flat functionality of sitcoms like The Simpsons.

A series of 9 short films that mostly impress with stylish animation, clever concepts, poignancy and, at times, a sense of humor. The best film among the bunch is FLATLIFE.
A compilation of nine animated short films from around the world contains hits and misses.
