ric3 writes: on Jan 11 2008 10:46 AM I haven't seen Blade Runner in several years, but what I DO remember of it was the entire little world that was created in what was supposed to be (I think) Los Angeles. It was kind of a cross between that and Tokyo. The characters had such a depth to them that you knew each one's background and life story. Even the androids' man-made life history. My favorite scene is when Pris, played by Daryl Hannah, spray-paints black over her eyes and then opens them. It filled the screen. I used that makeup on Halloween that year, using Clown white and black eye-liner, spray-painting my hair white, and wearing a black jumpsuit with white gloves. I also went as a mute, signing and not speaking. No one at my friend's Halloween party knew who I was until the very end of the night, when someone guessed on my face's profile. Back to Blade Runner. There's so much going on in the film, you have to watch it again and again to catch all of the little details that are included. That's what I love about a Ridley Scott film; he's into details. And characters. I haven't seen the new release yet, but I'm SO looking forward to it. (Reply to this) |

Movie Knight writes: on Jan 11 2008 06:21 PM "La Vie en Rose" One of the best movies I have EVER seen, much less 2007, and no doubt the BEST performance I have EVER seen. If you didn't love this movie, you have no soul, no brain, and you have no idea what movies are about. I didn't know Edith Piaf from Joan Jett when I saw this on DVD ths week. I am still shaking my head with wonder. (Reply to this) |

zooman writes: on Jan 15 2008 06:51 PM wow, thats true, how did they include 300 and not bourne ultimatum.. wouldnt bourne and stardust be highlights from the year even if they aren't the most precious gems in film? the one good solid pop corn action movie of the year and the only fairy tale in quite some time and are not included? I was surprised that hairspray which i didnt love wasnt included either, beowulf could have been included too, at least over a few that were.. (Reply to this) |

Elijya writes: on Jan 16 2008 07:04 PM No Sunshine? I am highly disappointed. Shoot Em Up was one of the most fun movies I saw last year, but I understand that it's not for everyone. Sunshine, on the other hand, was fantastic and received great reviews, and was unfortunately abandoned when being marketed at the US box office, leaving it almost an unknown gem of last year.
