Oh and put Eagle vs Shark in place of Juno, which was probably the most overrated film I've seen in the last year.

Why are people so in love with Rescue Dawn?

I thought Eastern Promises was depressing and overrated. Sunshine was overrated as well. I agree that these movies shouldn't be on the list. The ones that could be added are Waitress and The Lookout.

I'm glad to see Control made the list. Excellent film.

What about Children of Men? As much as I like No Country, Children of Men has become one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies of all time (and one of the only I've seen that resists the temptation to give people flying cars and cloud cities 20 years in the future and stays believable at the very least). Cuaron's long, one-shot sequences alone were amazing and the urban warfare sequences were the best non-Band of Brothers/Saving Private Ryan war scenes I've ever seen.

there are some great films being overlooked, such as into the wild, gone baby gone, 3:10 to yuma, sweeney todd, sicko, the lookout, and grindhouse are all better then the fun and visually stunning, but somehwat hollow 300.

What no love for Transformers. What could possibly be better than giant robots trashing LA while trying to destroy each other. This was the kind of Bayhem that Mike was meant to direct. :D

And yes I'm serious, somewhat with tongue in cheek, but it was my fav. :)-

I agree with most of the list, but like many others I just cant see 300 holding its own against those big names. No country for old men was the best this year, followed by there will be blood. I really liked the comedies.

There Will be Blood and No Country for Old Men definitely. But where's Into the Wild? I thought it was a better film than Atonement. Don't get me wrong, I thought Atonement was very well done but I didn't like it as much as Into the Wild.

Much to my surprise, I really enjoyed 3:10 to Yuma. I really dislike Westerns outside of 'Tombstone.' I think it stems from my disapproval of the boring, and I mean BORING 'Unforgiven.'

Russell Crowe and Christian Bale were wonderful and I loved that the novel was written by one of my favorites Elmore Leonard (Get Shorty, Out of Sight, Rum Punch aka Jackie Brown)
