The negative revues for this movie simply reflect the shallow nature of our times. I seldom encounter a flick that aspires to "high visual art" and actually manages to deliver the way this one does. It engages the profound differences between the sexes in a healthy way, not to mention generation gaps, power, success, ego and the essential deviation from the norm experienced by all "real" artists. Ultimately it reaches conclusions about these issues that are decidedly profound. In the ultimate profundity, however, it leaves these issues open to question and an evolving emergent conclusion. This flick is brilliant and one of the finest efforts I have seen in a long, long time.
