Billy Bob to Become an "Astronaut Farmer"

Billy Bob Thornton will star in the Polish Brothers' satire known as "The Astronaut Farmer," says Variety. Mark and Michael Polish penned the screenplay, and production is set to get underway next month in New Mexico.

The story's about "an astronaut who is forced to leave NASA in order to save his family farm. But he can't give up his dream of space travel and looks to build his own rocket, despite threats by the government to stop him."

Michael Polish will direct, and the brothers are presently looking for a leading lady to work alongside Mr. Thornton.

The Polish Brothers' previous films include "Twin Falls Idaho" and "Northfork."

Sounds familiar - wasn't there a TV show in the early 80's called S.A.L.V.A.G.E about a junk dealer that built his own rocket?
