I tried to watch it...

i tried to watch it online but i could not get threw it even for free. If you enjoy it that is fine different opinions. However i could not stand it. To many elements from superior films and the acting also feels off at times. The actress in the movie is not as into some of the scenes as Tom is and it really feels awkward.

If you like it more power to you. Please do not try to argue with my opinion. I know a few fuckers on here that will but i am trying to talk to the reasonable ones when i say leave opinions be.

Enjoy the crap out of it if you like it, its made for you than :).

It didn't steal them. If you expect a movie to have no qualities of any other movie in existence you are going to be sorely disappointed.

All I want to know is what elements of what films? All the critics keep saying this film borrowed in so many places. One guy even said, "I would tell you, but it's so fun to name them yourself", which I see as a copout that he can't name shit and is just jumping on the bandwagon. Obviously the cloning idea came from Moon, but it's used in an entirely different way. Help me out, which elements from which movies?

The scav designs were taken straight from Predator for a start, the multiple wives were from Total Recall, Sally had certain parallels with Hal 9000, I could name a lot more, but that should give you an idea.

I give good reviews to movies that do exactly what they advertise to you. Transformers and Battleship are two movies where the audience EXPECTS to put their brain aside and just enjoy a good shoot-'em-up fireworks show. Oblivion is more an intellectual sci-fi flick where there's a mystery for us to unravel. Same genre? Sure. Sci Fi, but completely different styles of film.

I just saw it in the cinema. Impressive visually, but some cardboard acting, a thin storyline and what I felt was bad casting (Morgan Freeman as leader of the resistence?) let it down i think. It was just mediocre, which was a shame because there was a good movie in there somewhere trying to get out.
