I Liked this movie, but hated the Sally revelation (spoilers)

I enjoyed this movie, but the thing that is keeping me from loving it is at the End; Sally is some giant AI in which we are never explained what it is where it came from. During this scene, everybody in the theater, including myself, were struck with confusion. I think it would have better is Sally and the Tetra were runned by some reptilian Alien race, but instead I am still trying to figure out what Sally is. I you know, could you answer me:

1. What is Sally and what created her? Is she sent by another Alien Race ? or Is it her alone wanting our planets resources

2. If it she is alone, why?

The plot description in Wikipedia - Oblivion (2013 film) - made sense for Sally - as their supervisor at NASA mission control back in 2017. So the Tet could grab the voice & video transmissions of the real Sally as a natural boss for the Jack clone albeit 60 years later. All part of the ploy - whereas reptillian would be too revealling as an alien.

I must have blinked during the movie since Sally/NASA I.D. wasn't obvious to me either.

I noticed Sally losing her southern accent at points in the movie. Unless it was revealing flaws in the Sally AI ? Or just simply the the actor (Melissa Leo is from NYC)

I can only assume that Sally is another Aperture Science AI gone wrong.

I gotta say, I was eager to see what was really inside the giant pyramid. .....another pyramid, with a big red eye. "I can't let you do that Jack" Yeah, I was a bit underwhelmed too.

1. The movie focused on the battles within and without, and less with the nature of the invader. We all knew what the end was gonna be, get into the Tet, say something classy, blow it up, movie done.

2. Speculation. I'm guessing it's not alone. Her AI was limited and and she seemed designed to adapt to each world she found. The whole 'abduct, clone, invade' method seemed pre-programed. Though the god complex and the abject destruction seems out place for a simple space probe. There's really not enough info and I don't think we're meant to think too far.

You will never have all your questions answered in a Sci Fi flick. All we really need to know is she was an intelligent entity tasked to suck energy from as many planets as she could. That's where I was slightly disappointed in the revelation, not that it wasn't compelling, but the last 10 minutes was pretty much lifted from Independence Day.

What..They pretty much explain exactly what/how/who Sally is, how did you miss it? That was one of the only parts of the movie I actually thought they did a good job with, other than the visuals.

I know what she is doing, but I want to know what made her and where she came from

The 'Tet' isn't a gender. :P The 'Tet' is a giant machine spaceship made by a long extinct alien race to go around and get resources/energy from planets. I'm assuming it's made by a long extinct alien race because in the graphic novel the 'Tet' was a White Cube and was designed to go around changing planets to make them inhabitable by the alien race that designed it, yet that race went extinct a long time ago and the White Cube just aimlessly goes around changing planets for the aliens that will never come.

Hope that helps. :)

1- new here so not sure if you're serious... as it is pretty Obliviobnvious what the who why where and how of what Sally is, er, is.
2- That's easy. Budget cuts. aliens have budgets too. Especially aliens that "have spread themselves across the Universe" stealing everyone's "energy".
Which leads me to another Obliviobnvious question: now that jack has blown up the local Tet, if the numbers still pan out, won't someone from accounting just send another one ? And, more importantly, has Tom Cruise sustained some sort of brain injury and "Jack" is now the only character name that he can remember ?

Here's what I don't get..They leech all that energy, just to make more Jacks? It seems like they wouldn't need nearly as many as they had made, unless they were planning on invading a different planet with an army of humans. They seemed to lack any sense for being so advanced.
