Movie Info

Produced, directed and designed by Julie Taymor, this film rendition of Stravinsky's opera-oratorio stars Jessye Norman, Bryn Terfel and Philip Langridge. Visually gripping and filled with corruption, murder and heartbreak, the production features English tenor Langridge in the title role, with Norman as the commanding Jocasta and Terfel as Creon. The Saito Kinen Orchestra provides accompaniment under the baton of maestro Seiji Ozawa.

This is the most beautiful opera I have ever seen. The costumes are brilliant, the music is superb, and the direction of the entire opera is perfection.
