The film is about what happens to a man after a bitter and cruel divorce and how his relationship with his son deteriorates to the point where his son wants nothing to do with him. This is reality! Also when Dave confesses about his mother leaving him and his sister behind, it depicts the realities of both sides of a divorce. That's where they find their similarities. The pain that both have ensued through this similiar process. In a divorce or a separation adults need to realize that they need to act like adults and maintain the love they have for their children or all will suffer as this movie depicts. I guess only people who have experienced such stages in life can see the true meaning behind this film. I am a product of both sides and as Dave so eloquently put it, "I guess he's just been bleeding slowly all this time." (Reply to this) |
