  • A tremendous collection of some of the funniest movies ever produced! Now a whole new generation will be able to rediscover the appeal of these two-reel silent masterpieces. These delightful comedies date as far back as 1917 and have been unseen in decades. These little comedic gems have been lovingly restored and are offered on DVD for the very first time! THE BELL HOP (1921) - A gang of foreign spies attempt to steal an important government document at a resort hotel. Larry Semon stars as the hotel's lazy bellhop, with a 29 year old Oliver Hardy cast as a dapper-looking desk clerk. Larry Semon also wrote, directed and produced this funny two-reel comedy. The co-director was future Oscar winner Norman Taurog. DANGER AHEAD (1926) - In this second entry in the Hairbreadth Harry series, Relentless Randolph has learned that beautiful Belinda has just inherited $10,000 and decides to steal the money from her. He and his henchmen arrive at her house just as the money is being delivered but Hairbreadth Harry has observed the entire incident and will not allow Randolph to get away with his nefarious scheme. Earl McCarthy stars as Hairbreadth Harry and is joined in the cast by Charlotte Merriam, Jack Cooper and Max Asher. Produced by Billy West. FLIRTY FOUR-FLUSHERS (1926) - With her winnings from an essay contest, a waitress gets dolled up and goes to a swanky resort to snag a millionaire husband. Madeline Hurlock, Billy Bevan, Vernon Dent, Billy Gilbert, Thelma Hill, Stanley Blystone and Patrick Kelly star in this Mack Sennett production. HIS DAY OUT (1918) - Billy West, the most famous Charlie Chaplin impersonator stars in this very funny film alongside a young Oliver Hardy and Leatrice Joy. Portions of this film were edited into Robert Youngson's 1968 compilation entitled "The Further Perils of Laurel and Hardy." THE WRONG MR. FOX (1917) - An unemployed actor and a reverend both named Mr. Fox get mistaken for one another and end up in unexpected and unfamiliar surroundings. Starring Victor Moore, a vaudeville comedian who appeared in over 58 films and 21 Broadway shows. He first appeared on Broadway in "Rosemary" in 1896. The Victor Moore bus terminal at the New York City Subway's 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue-Broadway station in Jackson Heights, Queens, served by the E, F, V, G, R, and 7, and Q33, Q19B and Q47 buses, is named for him.
