Gordon Franklin Terry Sr writes: on Nov 10 2009 04:54 AM Didn't sound to be to sound of an idea from the start. SPEILBERG? (Japanese Animation) Speilberg is so egocentrically and ethnocentric-ally American that, to do a DIFFERENT STROKES movie, Speilberg would cast Mcauly Caulkin in the Gary Coleman role. Many of Speilberg's films run along the lines of "cultural-studies" of WASP families. In his biography Speilberg is said to have felt excluded in his WASP-ish high schools and centers around WASP families because Speilberg, deep-down, desires to be a WASP. (Jim McBride's book and theory; check it out for yourself)) (Reply to this) |

Escapefromalcatraz writes: on Nov 10 2009 12:42 PM I saw Poltergeist on the big screen on Halloween (I love Austin) and F-ME(!) that movie is still so friggin' scary!! When the teenage daughter pulls up and screams "What's Happening?!" the whole audience spontaneously applauded (another reason why I love Austin). trailer for Poltergeist for all you house-built-on-Indian-cemetery lovers out there: min2:07 ftw! BLaCKWoLF2009 writes: on Nov 10 2009 10:23 PM In reply to this comment (#2560252) 2 All of the above 3 - LOL. Well Played. Harsh on my homie Nic Cage but hilarious nonetheless lol. Sadly, we could only imagine what Nic Cage would be like as the lead character in an Old Boy remake.... (Reply to this) |

Matanuki writes: on Nov 11 2009 04:19 AM In reply to this comment (#2560128) Nic Cage?... Yeah, because Bangkok Dangerous was so good. But seriously, the point lands because we're certainly agreed on the fact that this film would need a star not too tied to his image to make this work. Not to mention a director not neutered and complacent. Spielberg and Smith? Love em both, but hell no! (Reply to this) |

Bruce K. writes: on Nov 11 2009 09:49 PM The only casting I would go for in a remake would be Meat Loaf, but I guess still being best known for b****tit bob in Fight Club would exclude him automatically. (Reply to this) |
