...........noodlez, I rented it last night and I can honestly say that you have your head jammed up your ass. And seeing that you are a 'native of DC"............you are an asshole also with no sense of what 'entertainment' is. Your opinions are HISTORY!!
Aug 27 - 08:32 AM
Might be the worst movie I have ever seen. Totally without credibility, inevitability...terrible, hackneyed character and dialogue.
Aug 19 - 08:19 AM
Golly......Forgive me for thinking that the whole premise of watching a film is to momentarily escape from the every day monotony of "real life".....The movie was fantastic.....The "Effects" were just that....effects.....and they worked well....Though not a particular fan of Gerrard Butler, I found his characterization plausible and realistic....I almost did not view this film due to the juvenile and childish "critiques" from several self-proclaimed "reviewers"......suffice to say, ignorant "retard" I may be.....I enjoyed the hell out of the movie!!!!!! (oh, and by the way there was nothing wrong with BATTLESHIP either....!!!)
Aug 16 - 07:34 PM
The entire time this movie had me asking where is the back up? Mock seal team 6 come ablazing with noisy helicopters? Everyone was surprised they were shot down. Hmmm even I saw that coming...Sorry this could have been better!
Aug 15 - 02:02 PM
Let's not forget Earth VS The Flying Saucers. Ray Harryhausen did a great job of destroying D.C. back in 1956.
Aug 13 - 02:18 PM
Watchable, but you'd have to be fucking retarded to believe it was anything special. Pretty much regurgitated from the same group that came up with "Battleship".
Aug 12 - 08:44 PM
Loved this movie ! Over the top action and ultra-violence! NOT for children or the faint of heart!
Jun 30 - 02:17 PM
Is your keyboard broken, or do you feel the need to use "big" letters to compensate for something?
Jun 28 - 07:12 AM
If you are offended by this trashy movie that depicts monuments being destroyed, then you obviously aren't a movie fan. You just missed the hundreds of other movies destroying the same monuments.
Jun 28 - 02:45 AM
I watched the film in hopes that somehow someone is gutsy enough to make a film about how america get wrecked and south korea destroyed too as a bonus. But of course, fuck american patriotism for making everything predictable and stale.
Apr 14 - 04:37 AM
Why would they do that? American action movies don't end with America getting fucked over. American action movies are made to see a modern day cowboy just shoot the shit out of anybody with a foreign accent and a gun. If you thought this would be different in any way, then that's your own damn fault.
Apr 14 - 01:21 PM
Uh-ohhh... According to some people here, I better get to DC again to see all the monuments one last time before some terrorists copy this and destroy everything... Take some picture, have a picnic on the Washington Mall... Etc...
Pretty good movie, "escapism"... Blatant borrowing of Die Hard, but, so what, Die Hard was good too, All Great Action, So-so Good One-Liners
BTW... NOODLEZ IS GEORDIE!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Apr 7 - 02:06 PM
The most repugnant thing about this movie is that AMERICA DOESN'T NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!
Apr 5 - 08:03 PM
noodlez..........I'm gonna shit on you if you don't stop yelling. I mean it, damn it. No more of your crap! I'm going on your recommendation that I rent this film. If you're wrong........then that's all she wrote! You're history!
Apr 2 - 03:29 PM
If anyone has the right to be bitching, it would be New York. Their city has been blown up a billion times by Hollywood..whether it's terrorists, aliens, king kong, ghosts or the second coming of the ice age. On top of that, they're the prime target for terrorism, so excuse me if I don't shed a tear for the city where politicians meet and compete to see who is the most full of shit. Personally, I could give a fuck less if a symbol or a monument gets destroyed. It's man made, just like this government. Seeing the statue of liberty get her head chopped off, or the Lincoln monument get castrated isn't going to send me out of the theatre crying. And the first lady is no better than the maid that cleans the hourly motel...either one of them can die. Neither life carries more or less weight simply because of a man made title. The reason movies like this work is because so many people buy into psuedo patriotism and symbolism. It gets your emotions boiling. The only reason I would worry about the white house being attacked would be that it would mean that our country is under attack. Other than that, if it were to collapse tomorrow, I'd react the same way as if my neighbor's house was destroyed by a tornado... I would have compassion, I'd want to help if I could and I would hope that no one died. I wouldn't wanna run out and join the marines so we could invade mother nature. All that being said... it was a very mediocre, formulaic, plot-hole laden, predictible movie.

Mar 24 - 08:37 AM
Noodlez, you must have really hated Independence Day as well. It didn't really happen. You realize this, right? They built shell copies of these buildings and did not actually destroy the monuments. It's called fiction. LOL And in the end everything was being rebuilt so it's a good, your city will be fine.
Mar 24 - 08:28 AM
You really need to calm down. Either that or turn off caps lock. It's a movie dude. I'm not even going to argue with you because I can tell it would be in vain o do so.
Mar 24 - 08:12 AM
I understand that you dissagree, but you have to understand that this is a movie and is an intertaiment and don't forget at the end we always win.
Mar 24 - 07:34 AM
I liked it. Entertaining and exciting. Solid performances and compelling action sequences and makes you think. And for all those idiots who say the premise is silly since the WH is the most protected of all institutions all one has to do is remind these same idiots of 9-11. Actually the main villain in the film states "it takes 15 minutes for your military to get here to protect this landmark but only took me 13. Besides it is something different which leaves a lot of question unanswered and actually makes you think some and am awaiting "White House Down" later this year. 3 stars out of 4.
Mar 23 - 11:00 PM
How quickly you forget that another terrorist faction hijacked commercial airliners and flew them in to two buildings and the Pentagon on 911. You must have been real offended when that happened! How dare they, and the movie is fiction! Lighten up!
Mar 23 - 07:13 PM
Noodlez, I agree.I was upset about the representation of our nation's capital being ripped to threads. I had to walked out twice. I kept coming back hoping some glimpse of hope would come sooner then later. I finally walked about just short of the end when finally Banner saved the day. I knew it would but at the last 2 minutes? People will criticize
our feelings, sure getting attacked here at home for my passionate opinion. Though I don't think Mormons would see this movie, but what if
it was Salt Lake City and the demolishment of the Mormon Temple. By some group of anti-Christians who can't respect the Mormons beliefs.
The setting, and the parallel of current issues just scared me. I hear
of what will be done, but now only hear what will be done when we get
hit. I love a action packed movie. Always had. Though we have this passionate opinion, it is still just a movie, fiction. Whether a terrorist element could decimate our nation's capital, I hope not.
I agree with many comparing it with Die Hard, having a great cast and the good elements of a good movies. However, are we suppose to become unconcerned for the possibilities of foriegn attack. Movies are a good media to accomplish this. I'm no longer scared of seeing a dead body or violence as I was 30 yrs ago. Fear of alien invasion, not so much. Still fantasy to me. So why are we going to be inundated with more movies with this scenario. With our military cuts, do we really need to be reminded of the possibilities. Yes its fear mongering.

Loved it get over the fact it made your city look bad you sound like idiots who cried when Fallout 3 came out and showed a nuked DC its fiction!!!!!
Mar 21 - 10:28 PM
I saw an early screening and it was a fun action movie. It's basically Die Hard in the White House.

Mar 21 - 07:44 AM
Yea, over on The Master forum, here I was trying to give my opinion on the movie, and some entitled douche criticized my comment and implied I was gay because I like it. Go figure. Not that I care about being called gay on an anonymous message board, but just due to the fact that liking a certain movie makes him feel the need to make implications on my personal life. It's the same thing with the whole "well, you don't like this artistic movie, go back to your Michael Bay movies!!!" argument, if you can call it an argument.
Mar 23 - 09:46 AM
Just read the posts. This is not a intelligent conversation of this movie, but a put down of peoples opinion. I want substance and repect. I am out of here.
Mar 23 - 09:50 AM
I had the pleasure of seeing the NY screening and it was an intense action/thriller that brings some great humorous moments throughout the film. Im from DC and the audience loved the film at the screening. It's insulting to say the least when critics call someone dumb for enjoying an action film that's based on FICTION.
Its enjoyable to go see a great action film where the good guys beat the bad guys.
Mar 19 - 11:52 AM
Caps or not...I can understand nnodlez's point. For all of you reminding noodlez that this is a work of "fiction" I would like to remind you that just because it is "fiction" and blows up DC doesn't necessarily make this "good" or "enjoyable" fiction.
IMO...quality "fiction" requires a little more brain power going "You know what would be cool to show in a movie? A terrorist blowing up DC and the White House. We don't needa plot; we'll just tell everyone they had a super secret weapon to allow the plane to fly to the White House and that will do. People are too stupid to care. And we can have a Bruce Willis\Steven Seagal wannabe as the fish-out-of-water hero saving the day for everyone."
There were no human screenwriters. It was group think from The Cloud which tells you to enjoy and so you do because The Cloud tells you to.
Mar 18 - 07:24 PM
90% of the movies in theaters are mindless blather, yet they continue to make them and people continue to watch them. I also don't trust the critics. Everything is subjective, and sometimes it's nice to escape the intensity and challenge of everyday life with mindless blather. I see a lot of films because it is cheaper than therapy. A place to go and get out of my own head for a while. But just because I will sit through a bad movies doesn't mean I'm not thrilled by the occasional intelligent piece of cinematic brilliance.
Mar 23 - 07:07 AM
DON'T MAKE IT SO OBVIOUS THAT YOU ARE A SMALL MINDED PERSON WHO WORKS WITH A SMALL THINGY. I'M SURE YOUR BOYFRIEND OR GIRLFRIEND TOLERATES THE SMALLNESS OF YOUR MANHOOD BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO HURT YOUR LITTLE FEELINGS. SLIM WHEN YOU TOTE BIG THINGS 24/7 YOU HAVE A TENDENCY TO GO BIG IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. DON'T BE MAD. EMBRACE YOU UNIQUENESS! BIT O'ADVICE ME LAD DON'T LET YOUR NAPOLEON COMPLEX GET THE BEST OF YOU!
Mar 17 - 06:31 PM
You know what they say about guys who feel the need to write all in caps...they got small dicks.
Mar 18 - 04:56 PM
I guess this kind of garbage film is for the dumb-down American audiences. This film is for them and so they all pump up by false patriotism feed by lies and propaganda. In past 20 yr American film audiences have dumb-down and that's why we are continued to be bombarded with an such unrealistic ludicrous film like this. Who is attacking White House and kidnapping US President? North Koreans? Wow! I rather believe in scenario where Canadians have more chance to attack White House than North Koreans. This film also has a racist tone and bias media work against rising K-pop and K-film industry. Imagine how much Hollywood producers and owners hate rising Asian film and music industry. We should be aware that Hollywood was began with racism.
Mar 16 - 12:01 AM
It's a kick-ass action film that takes place in my home town of Washington, DC. The filmmakers got the look right. Of course how the terrorists do what they do is completely implausible -- no plane is going to get that close to the Beltway without getting shot down -- but the terrorists plane has a secret (and fictional) defensive mechanism that makes it possible. Yeah, having the Secret Service plowed down the way they were is gross -- BUT IT'S FICTION! It's a STORY, not a documentary of what could happen. It's fun. Go see it. Then visit DC if you never have and see the White House, the Washington Monument (which was shaken up by the earthquake in 2011) and the memorials and appreciate the majesty and beauty of our city which is still proudly standing.
Mar 14 - 01:39 PM
MS. DIANE THE QUAKE WAS A NATURAL OCCURRENCE. SO YOU ARE OKAY WITH SHIT FLYING INTO AND BLOWING UP THE NERVE CENTER OF OUR COUNTRY AFTER 2001? YOU MUST HAVE MOVED HERE FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Mar 17 - 06:40 PM
I was effing born in DC, noodles. It's FICTION! But it's also a tribute to our armed services and Secret Service who put everything they've got into protecting what we cherish. The British burned the White House and Capitol and other government buildings on August 24, 1814 and James Madison was my great, great, great great grandfather's brother-in-law. And we've been best friends with Great Britain since December 24, 1814--The Treaty of Ghent. Washington recovered. This is a movie--fiction! Kick-ass and fun. Carnage galore. Good guys win in the end--Ooops! Spoiler.
Mar 17 - 08:44 PM
I think he's basing this solely on the trailers. Noodles, did you even see the film yet?
Mar 17 - 08:47 PM
@JACOB-http://www.ufunk.net/en/techno/fiction-vs-reality/
MOST THINGS YOU TOUCH OR SEE STARTED AS FICTION. SOMETHING SOMEONE IMAGINED AND IT DIDN'T BECOME A FACT UNTIL IT CAME TO FRUITION. HOLLYWOOD EXECS KNOW THIS ON SEVERAL LEVELS SO TO GIVE THAT CRAP SOMEONE IMAGINED CREDENCE AND THEN BRING IT TO FILM IS JUST ASININE. OLYMPUS=EPIC FAIL!
Mar 18 - 07:25 PM
I agree with everything you said except for the way you said it. NO CAPS (unless you're 9 years old, and even then you've shouldn't have seen this... nor should anyone else)
Mar 13 - 10:09 PM
For those who have never been to DC and don't really understand the role of the Secret Service, the movie succeeds IMHO. It takes awhile for the movie to jell, and then it's over-the-top. Hated the overwrought music; loved Morgan Freemans' performance. If I were Korean, even with South Korean ancestry, I'd be really, really offended however.
Mar 13 - 08:31 PM
Okay, seriously? This is a movie about the President being kidnapped. If reviews indicate that it's at least decent, then I'll go see it. So what if Washington landmarks are being destroyed when it's possible it could actually happen. As for it being propaganda, propaganda for what? It's a movie about American politicians and military. I don't necessarily see that as "propaganda." Also, I saw Zero Dark Thirty. In no way did I think it was propaganda. Torture of terrorists happened whether you liberal pussies like it or not. You can least grow a pair and acknowledge it happened rather than whine and complain like children. Now does that mean Zero Dark Thirty was an amazing film? No. It was an okay film, but it felt waayyy longer than its Two and a half hour run time.
Mar 13 - 01:58 PM
It looks like a generic action movie but ill reserve judgement. Also Morgan Freeman is not a b/c lister
Mar 13 - 01:52 PM
"Under Siege" and "The Rock" standout better than this. Antoine should've called it "Hollywood Hungover Olympus Has Fallen" or "Stupid Terrorists and Hollywood Seize Olympus."
Mar 12 - 02:32 PM
wow! go back to infowars.com bub...it's just a movie...and it looks like a cheap rip off of not only die hard, but the outstanding vince flynn novel "transfer of power"...i remember antoine fuqua was rumored to be the director of mitch rapp's big screen debut and that gerard butler would play rapp...then i saw this preview and thought that this was it...nope...
Mar 11 - 04:19 AM
I KNOW IT'S JUST A FILM! FROM THE LOOK OF THE PREVIEWS A HORRIBLE ONE. DUDE IM A NATIVE WASHINGTONIAN AND ALSO MARRIED AND AS A MARRIED MAN I'M SURE YOU CAN ATTEST TO YOUR WIFE'S RAW BEAUTY EVERY DAY. I WAS BORN IN THE CITY AND CURRENTLY LIVE HERE AND THE RAW BEAUTY THIS CITY DISPLAYS EVERY DAY AND NIGHT ALONG WITH WHAT IT STANDS FOR SHOULD NOT BE IMAGINED IN ANY OTHER WAY JUST LIKE I WOULDN'T IMAGING MY WIFE'S RAW BEAUTY IN ANY OTHER WAY. TO IMAGINE THE MONUMENT AND WHITE HOUSE BEING DESTROYED FOR SOME SORT OF FINANCIAL GAIN TO FURTHER ONE'S AGENDA IS ASININE AND IT PUSHES FOLK WHO ACTUALLY WANT TO DO THIS INTO THE REALM THAT IF WE WOULD PAY TO SEE IT DESTROYED ON FILM THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT BEING DESTROYED. THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS THAT SHOULD BE OFF LIMITS AND IMAGES DESECRATING THE CAPITAL OF OUR NATION IS ONE OF THEM.
Mar 12 - 05:51 PM
Hey bro did you know you can turn off the capital letter by pressing the "Caps Lock" key? Just keep trying and one day I know you will learn how to use a computer!
Mar 11 - 01:54 AM
MAYBE IF YOU UNPLUG LONG ENOUGH YOU WILL LEARN THAT THERE ARE NO RULES TO USING ONE'S OWN DEVICE! OR MAYBE THE VIBRATION FROM YOUR MOM OVER USING HER PROBING DEVICE IN THE NEXT ROOM GOT YOU ALL SHOOK UP AND SUFFERING FROM THOUGHTS OF DELUSIONAL GRANDEUR IF YOU THINK YOUR THE COMPUTER POLICE. BRO!
Mar 12 - 03:04 PM
i agree.. with how the country is going now and throw this out? im going to see it but i agree with corey sounds like propaganda.
Mar 2 - 03:21 PM
Looks like hype trying to make up for story line and acting. I give it a 4 garbage can rating.
Feb 27 - 04:57 PM
Agreed, it looks like ultra-patriotic brain wash swill. When the powers that be decide we are not conforming enough for their liking they make some crap like this to put us back in out easily controllable trance. Blindly follow your leaders or else you are not patriotic. It is in fact the exact opposite that is true, if you are a patriot you always question and scrutinize everything the leadership does.
Feb 27 - 03:26 PM
Wow! You must really take your movies seriously if they have that kind of effect upon you.
Me? I know they're make believe. Get your shit together, get a life, and stop looking to Hollywood to tell you what to think...
Mar 6 - 07:25 AM
You are completely missing the point of what he's trying to say. Keep thinking in your closed little box.
Mar 6 - 12:00 PM
If you think movies are always set aside from political propaganda, then you're mistaken. Zero Dark Thirty is a perfect example
Mar 11 - 09:36 AM
So...Pro U.S. is always propaganda. I think that a lot of people who accuse others of 'thinking in your closed little box' often do that in their own little world, too.
Mar 12 - 08:01 AM
Wrong. Pro U.S. is not always propaganda. I don't even think that this film is propaganda. Zero Dark Thirty is.
Mar 12 - 10:46 AM
cj thomas
I thought the movie was perfect. IT was exactly what i hoped for
Aug 29 - 03:55 PM
