If a critic says, "reactionary", I'm buying a ticket.

Just saying. Circle-$#@&ing bastards already tricked me out of seeing Lockout and almost made me miss Dead Man Rising. Worst of all, they tricked me INTO seeing the first five minutes of Expendables 2.

Cohost 3000 of Spill.com said it was "awesome". I'm sold. Seeing it today.

There is a problem with RT's rating system in general. As I type this OHF is at 55%. That's more bad than good and yet it's "Rotten" and that green blob can spell death to a lot of movies. OHF wisely marketed their film through social media so may end up somewhat "critic proof". BTW, I agree that Dead Man Down was a lot of fun, plot holes and all, just as I think OHF is a lot of fun. The pacing is such that if you can suspend your disbelief at all and just enjoy the ride, you'll bounce over those holes without falling in.

What's funny is that I found the attack on the White House to be as plausible as it can be portrayed in a movie. I mean, the White House is probably the most secure building in the world, especially post-9/11... the movie should not have been made at all if we were going to go for plausibility. But the way it happened, I think was pretty good and I was like "Oh shit wow they pulled it off"... then after the movie I thought about it some more and was like "Ok, no they didn't... but oh well, it was fun"

Perfect example - Ann Hornaday of the Washington Post gave OHF 2 of 4 stars which on their scale = "good". And yet there she sits with a green "rotten" blob next to her name on the front page for this movie. WTF?

I know, I read a lot of "Rotten" reviews that weren't really that rotten. Most are "Yes the movie was entertaining, but it's not original or (insert technical issues here)"... some even admitted to being on the edge of their seat. How can a rotten movie leave you at the edge of your seat?? At the same time, I read a review that basically TRASHES "Spring Breakers", calling it an incoherent mess and yet they have a "Fresh" next to their name. WTF man?

"55% is more bad than good". While your statement is true, you don't know how they weigh scores. In every university a percentage of 59 or below is considered "failing".

Omgg I loved the Amazing Spiderman. The critics were right about the fact that it really wasn't needed because it was nearly identical to Raimi's Spiderman movies, but I loved Garfield's Spiderman so much. I loved how skinny he was, how he was such a smartass, and I LOVED Gwen.. she wasn't just a damsel in distress, she was pretty ballsy. I also thought that making him destructible was pretty cool.

I'm surprised you didn't like Expendables 2, I wouldn't recommend this film if you didn't like that.

Watch it. Fuck the critics. I almost didn't see Law Abiding Citizen because of like a 24% or something.... it was an awesome movie.

It's all subjective, i mean sometimes i see a movie most critics adored, and i may see why they liked it but still dislike the film overall. Best to take every opinion with a bit of salt, whether it's a grain or a handful.

For action/thrillers like Lockout and Law Abiding Citizen however, most critics tend to pan movies like this because, while they may be exciting, there are often plot-holes, inconsistencies and contrivances that you either have to overlook or just accept to really enjoy the story. I liked the first 30-45 minutes of L.A.C. but found the plot quickly buckled under the heavy weight of it's premise.

I know all that. Die Hard and Taken weren't Oscar-worthy films, and I noticed every plot-hole in Lockout and Dead Man Down, but they were still great movies! They were fun, the characters were likable (at least Noomi Rapace was in the latter), the action sequences were pulled off well whether anyone thought they were smart decisions or not.

Critics are quick to like dumb films when they're dull and feature a talentless cast of gay monsters (which I had to sit through with a brain-dead cat and didn't even get any pussy), but a dumb, fun film gets lynched when the protagonist makes a democrat joke (Lockout)!

...

For the record, that movie I had to sit through was Twilight: Breaking Dawn--Part 2, and the cat was a yellow tabby I wanted to have sex with.

There are a lot of movies that really deserve higher scores here... Taken, Eagle Eye, even National Treasure. But I'm sure a lot of you guys will disagree with these three choices.

Dragon are you trying to say critics liked the Twilight films? All five Twilight movies are rotten.

Dave White of Movies.com liked it. I like Dave White, I guess, but I don't know what the hell he was thinking unless he got a huge favor out of it.
