"Daybreak" is a movie that consists of three storylines about the fragility of family that almost intersect:1. Richard(Jakob Eklund), a heart surgeon, is not having a good day. First, he learns that he did not get the job he was expecting.(To make matters worse, he has already sold his family's home.) Then, his
mistress, Sofie(Marie Richardson), tells him that she is pregnant...2. Anita(Ann Petren), who is still bitter three years later about her husband of twenty-six years leaving her for a much younger woman, is admitted to the hospital with chest pains and is released. Anita sells her medication and swaps some of it for a stun gun...3. Mats(Leif Andree) is a bricklayer who works mostly under the table to support his family. After having been stiffed on his latest job, he gets a lucrative offer from an older couple(Ingvar Hirdvall & Monika Lindstrom). Afraid of high crime in the neighborhood and after a home invasion, they ask Mats to wall up all of their windows..."Daybreak" is a pretty good movie but would have been better if the characters had cut down on the screaming and the confrontations had been handled with a bit of subtlety which only occurs towards the end. Of all the storylines, the third is by far the best because it is the most interesting and has the most to say.
