Compassion trumps shock
Russell's dramatisation is exceedingly accomplished. He manages to capture the ogrish attitude of Delius as he barks out orders while never losing sight of the creativity and genius lying within.
A richly rewarding work with a quiet intensity that recalls the films of Ingmar Bergman.
