If a movie gets 10% from the top critics, don't even bother defending it.

Unfortunate that you already chalked off of a movie because of what the majority of "top" critics said. Rex Reed is a top critic too. I didn't expect the mainstream critics to understand this movie anyway. I will watch it tomorrow and decide for myself.

Ah, so you haven't seen it yet... and however you defend it to the death whenever someone says a word against it. If a movie gets 50%, sure, the critics could be wrong and it could go either way. If it gets a 10, you have to think that it's a bit of an indication for the movie's overall quality.

It may be an indication of the movie's overall quality, but in this case you should try and understand that the film is not a typical one at all. And 10 is not the overall percentage of critics, just the mainstream ones. It's experimental and extremely violent art house. So you shouldn't take the top critics word for it before watching it. Who knows, maybe it is as bad as they say it is, but in the meantime for me at least, I still have a feeling I'm going to really enjoy it. I'm already addicted to all the footage I've seen thus far.

Appeal to Authority is a logical fallacy.
If you can defend the movie based on it's merits, then defend it.
