...a moderately enjoyable movie that plays like an extended commercial for a vacation on the Greek island of Patmos.

As standard uptight-American-unbuttons-himself-abroad movies go, director Udayan Prasad's gentle, unexceptional romance is exactly what you'd expect.

Everything is flat except for the island's picturesque mountains, but you can look at those for only so long.

[Modine] seems too tentative and blase to work as the film's lead. Especially since he's paired with the vibrant Scott. She definitely deserves a chance to work again, with someone as committed to film chemistry as she clearly was.

Your reviewer did correctly guess just about everything that transpired in Opa!, the only surprise being that the climactic finale hinges on a PowerPoint presentation. It's as romantic as it sounds.

My Big Fat Greek Travelogue would be a more suitable title for this stock romantic comedy that might as well have been directed by the Hellenic tourist board.
