Critic Reviews for The Other Side
The EL MARIACHI of horror films: a low-budget calling card intended to open doors to Hollywood, allowing for a big-budget sequel-remake down the road.
As he [Brown] travels along the U.S./Mexico border, his musings, juxtapositions of historical and contemporary curiosities, and interviews with people along the way create the distinct feel of travel.
Audience Reviews for The Other Side
One of the more different ideas for a horror film I have seen in a while. This movie was a lot of fun from a new director. Good times!
You could do much worse than this creative, super-low budget (around $15,000), do-it-yourselfer. Decent cast, decent story with a decent twist. Director Bishop shows alot of promise.
Despite it's low budget and mediocre acting I really enjoyed this movie. There was potential if it were picked up for more money. The plot was good, at first I was confused and didn't think I was going to enjoy it. Then when you get through it all it all came together and you understood what you had seen before. Aside from the look of the camera, which almost had some trials going on when people moved it all worked for the movie. Definetly worth checking out if you like low budget movies.
