Dennis Quaid shines in one of his first movie roles in OUR WINNING SEASON, an inspirational late 1970s drama that combines a coming-of-age narrative with the traditional characteristics of the sports film. Scott Jacoby plays David, a teenage track star who is perpetually winning second place. Paralyzed by self-doubt, he also has trouble with love, and is unable to summon the courage to talk to the girl of his dreams. However, when tragedy strikes, David's fatalistic attitude changes, and he finds the courage to fight for the first place trophy--on the track and in life. Quaid, his natural charisma shining through already, plays one of David's loyal pals. [More]
