The action opens with Emerald City's inmates enjoying some brand new facilities, as the experimental penitentiary has been partially rebuilt following the lethal gas explosion that wreaked havoc on the prison at the end of Season Four. But tensions still run unbearably high, with the usual mixture of infights and struggles with personal demons soon illustrating to fans of the show that we are back on very familiar territory once again. The writing, direction, and action remains of an incredibly high standard throughout, and as the tension builds towards the climax of Season Five, it's becomes clear why OZ has become such a staple of HBO's programming schedule.
