NOTE: This does NOT include his Platinum Dunes films.
This is my ranking:
TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON
THE ROCK
THE ISLAND
BAD BOYS
TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN
PEARL HARBOR / TRANSFORMERS
ARMAGEDDON
BAD BOYS II
I like Armageddon. I mean the rock and transformers were a lot better but I don't see why so many people hate Armageddon. Decent cast okay plot good effects. Not an award winner but definetly entertaining. Now pain and gain is something to be ashamed of.
The only two Bay films I like: Transformers 1 and The Rock. Everything else is terrible especially Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which is my least favorite movie of all time.
The only film of Michael Bay that I liked was the first Transformers, and I really want to see The Rock. And while I don't have anything against the guy, I don't know why the movie info of Pain & Gain calls him an "acclaimed director", because let's be honest, he isn't the best director in La La Land.
Well, he did kind of wreck the horror genre with his Platinum Dunes remakes, starting with TCM. I think the success of it started the horror remake craze of the 2000's and on.
Well, he didn't DIRECT them. The point I was proving is that he's not bad as a DIRECTOR. Also, the thread said that his Platinum Dunes films don't count if you're ranking Bay's films.
Yeah, I was aware. He is an okay director. I just thought I'd bring it up because...well...it's a big reason why I'm not overly fond of Bay. Just contributing discussion...
There were more Platinum Dunes films I didn't like than I did like. Texas Chainsaw was good, Friday the 13th was decent, and Elm Street was just okay. TCM: The Beginning was mediocre, The Amityville Horror was sub-par, The Hitcher was bullshit, Horsemen was boring, and The Unborn was crap. But I'll admit, I'm looking forward to The Purge. Michael Bay and Paranormal Activity producer Jason Blum actually produced The Purge. Michael Bay was actually involved with that film, I shit you not. I'm not looking forward to Ninja Turtles. I was eventually gonna give Bay and director Jonathan Liebesman a fair shot, but after hearing all the casting choices, I know it's gonna suck. Michael Bay is a much better director than he is a producer.
The only Platinum Dunes horror movie I enjoyed was Amityville Horror. The rest were terrible. I hated TCM. It was missing everything that made the original so great. And worst of all, it was boring.
And the movie could have ended 10 minutes early if that stupid bitch had picked up the chainsaw in that room where she hid in the closet and killed Leatherface and saved her friend. It wouldn't have mattered because they already fucked up the chance at a sequel with him losing his leg.
seriously hes a director that makes money off of movies because he knows how to make money. not because he makes good movies. there is not point of doing a list like this wtf
Alex LaMaster
He's my least favorite because he screwed over Transformers majorly. ;_: I honestly don't know how to list the list. So much bad.
