Not nearly as smart as it wants to be, Paranoia still provides an intriguing, techy plot with attractive leads spouting wooden lines. The ending is not as smart as one would desire, and the whole thing is slick, but underwhelming.

I thought this was a pretty exciting story to watch and I enjoyed the romance in it too.

While far from the worst film I've seen, there are very few things I can praise this film for - its script is predictable, and corny at the best of times. The performances fall flat. Its reach certainly exceeds its grasp, as it wobbles all over the place in trying to find a decent theme for it to focus on. While it is certainly obvious that they are trying to comment on the rich/poor divide, all I get from this movie is that all rich people are arseholes who dislike the poor, and all poor people can't afford health insurance. Its characters seem to have motivation, but they are all so formulaic and boring - plus its hard to connect to or feel sympathy for this supposed down-on-his-luck lead character when he's constantly spending money, and is incredibly egotistical - why should I feel sorry!?
Uninspired and superficial direction call for some of the most lacklustre action sequences yet. Overall, really not worth seeing.

Basically, Liam Hemsworth is one of the most handsome dudes alive. The first hour of the film is one big festival celebrating that fact and I loved every minute of that.
The cast is exceptional though it Ford and Oldman have had better performances. The script is generic but fulfills its purpose without causing me to roll my eyes as many scripts do. The cinematography is simple and a little lacking.
The score was written by Junkie XL which is part of Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions. Zimmer did not participate in this film but the influence is definitely there. Superb sound throughout.
After so many dopey teen romances, it is refreshing to see romance portrayed in a young adult setting instead. Is this the most memorable film ever? No. Did it keep me interested until the end? Yes, it definitely did.
SUMMARY: An interesting suspense film. I enjoyed it even though it is not as technically excellent as other films.

One of the most uninteresting films I have ever seen.

Corporate thrillers just aren't what they used to be. Professional in every way, but without any pulse to it. With such a strong cast it's a shame that even as a straight-to-DVD release, this would fail to pass muster. Offers nothing by way of suspense, intrigue, or characters.

Boring movie with false potential mostly because of the great actors they promote. Oh and that was the famous Amber Heard? She sure is stupid, Jesus.. I figured this would't be a masterpiece but it could at least be something worth watching. Nah.. didn't dig it.

very good and enjoyable film
September 17, 2014
The first minutes are intriguing, but with the time passing by, it loses all its interest, becoming an usual thriller with not so much thrill.
September 14, 2014
Ultimately formulaic and not as daring as it thinks it is, 'Paranoia' is a techno-thriller with an outdated message and an even more tired stack of cliches that is the script. A shame as Oldman and Ford are dependably strong, especially when pitted off each other.

Boring, pointless and totally unoriginal and cliched, this only gets the slightest of interest because of Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman once again teaming up on screen. Ultimately it sucks big time

One of the worst films I have ever seen in my life. The story is just awful do not watch this piece of crap it is just horrible.

from the beginning i was bored and angry, i quit 50 mins in.

You can barely call this 90 minute apple commercial a movie. It is terrible. Another example that Liam Hemsworth can't carry his own film. He is extremely unlikable in this. What are Ford and Oldman doing in this train wreck?
August 24, 2014
This film is just a waste you have Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford and you create this really. There's just nothing here you don't care about any of the characters. Overall Ford and Oldman keeps this thing from a complete disaster, but it's close.
August 24, 2014
Paranoia isn't an absolutely horrible movie; it's just a pointless one. Once the story wraps up, what's the reason we watched it? None. It's full of pretty Hollywood stars and muddled screenplay, with no real message or commentary.

Liam Hemsworth is improving, and yes I do agree with the consensus.
Lacks thrill and is very slow. A movie that had promise and potential that really really failed to deliver.
