When cancer strikes a loved one, it can be very difficult to understand one's own reactions to the disease, making it difficult to communicate and empathize with the affected person. The problem is amplified when breast cancer strikes, a disease that men often have a difficult time reacting to and providing emotional support for their loved one. This program seeks to help men address their feelings about breast cancer, thereby allowing them to support their loved ones in a sensitive and compassionate manner. Included are personal stories of husbands, partners, and women who have dealt with breast cancer as well as interviews with psychologists and psychiatrists who provide insights into these stories and the questions, emotions, and fears that often cause unnecessary pain and misunderstanding during the initial stages of the cancer.
