When Claire (Linda Kozlowski) learns her grandmother has been bilked out of $50,000 by the crooked televangelists Ray (Tim Curry) and Darla Porter (Annie Potts), she recruits her redneck boyfriend Jesse (Bill Paxton) to help recover the money. This movie is very timely for the late eighties, and it's pretty funny for the most part, but it doesn't have much to say, and the end is silly. I liked it, but It could have been better.

Clever idea goes awry. Way too over the top and exagerrated, I understand evangalists tend to be that way, but this takes it to a new extreme. Likeable performances, but again, many are too exagerrated. It has some genuinely funny scenes though.
