Incredibly intense, unflichingly realistic and powerfully moving...One of the all-time great cinematic achievements...God bless Mel Gibson.

That is so incredibly incorrect. No matter what your take on the message, the film has low production values and a blood thirsty air about it. It is exploitation, and to call it realistic... you cannot possibly consider yourself a serious reviewer. Ask any intelligent person (as you clearly do not fall into this category) if any human body could withstand that amount of damage, I'll give you a hint: It wouldn't. Furthermore, the jesus in the film lost more blood than is contained in the human body.

low production values? bloodthirsty air? hahaha, good one, mike. see, I would say that movies that promote violence might be bloodthirsty, and movies that have bad direction have low production values. since this one promotes peace and self-giving love and has great direction/acting, I'm sure you are joking.

As of today, Mel Gibson is the public enemy n1. This man is stupid. Insane. His movie is the apology of religious extremism and blindness. It just.... I don't even have the words to describe it. Compared to Scorsese's "Last Temptation...", it is mere crap. Avoid.

P.S: Chuck O'Leary is familiar with this kind of awfully dull review. Please stop him. Please stop Mel Gibson.

I dislike that this review. This movie did not portray the parts of Jesus' life that mattered. His death was not as important as his teachings, atonement and resurrection. I don't think he would really appreciate a film that depicted his horrible death.

Well said. I am not Christian, but i do think Christianity is a beautiful religion. None of it was shown in this film and none of Jesus' teachings or importance was shown in any way. I understand Gibson's passion and there is nothing wrong with that at all, but maybe there are things he doesn't really understand and that shows up in this particular effort.

Huh? Everything He did mattered. But if we want to single out what He did that mattered the most, every Christian I know would say dying a more than horrific death on the cross for our sins would rank #1.

ha, this review would've made me laugh if it was an expected reaction by someone who is so deep in self-delusion that they can't see reality clearly either in life or art.

Mel Gibson is a sadomasochist. Nuff said

this movie was like nazi propaganda. Fuck Gibson. He's nothing but a drunken anti simitic hate monger. How ironic is it that his career has taken a total dive since releasing this cinematic abortion.
