Founded in 1982 by activist Patricia Montandon, the Children as the Peacemakers Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to sowing the seeds of world peace through the efforts of children all across the globe. In 1985, the foundation took a historic trip to the People's Republic of China for a peacekeeping mission that witnessed the signing of the Children's Declaration of Dependence for nuclear nonproliferation by Chinese premier Zhao Ziyang, Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi, and Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev. In addition, the Peace Kids unfurled a mile-long, red-silk Banner of Hope across the Great Wall of China to honor the children killed in war, resulting in a moving display of compassion that is captured in this heartwarming and inspirational documentary narrated by L.A. LAW's Michael Tucker. [More]
