This time around Pooh's smallest pal is given the star treatment in this sweet and touching adaptation of A. A.Milne's original short stories. Set to a lyrical and lighthearted soundtrack by Carly Simon, the adventure begins in the Hundred-Acre-Wood as the gang gets ready for the Honey Harvest. Much to his chagrin, Piglet (Voice of John Fiedler) is left out of the festivities because he is declared too small to help, so the unsung hero abandons his pals to wander the wood and think about his place, however small, in the world. Eventually Winnie (Voice of Jim Cummings), Tigger (also Cummings), Rabbit (Voice of Ken Sansom), Eeyore (Peter Cullen), Owl (Voice of Andre Stojka), and Christopher Robin (Voice of Tom Wheatley) realize that their friend is missing and set out to find him with the help of Piglet's "Book of Memories," a scrapbook of their adventures. As the gang searches for Piglet they relive their many adventures, told in flashbacks, and realize what an important part he has played in each of their lives. This sweet-tempered, feel-good adventure is full of empowering messages of self worth for children of all ages; Piglet proves that sometimes heroes can come in the tiniest of packages. [More]

Reviews for Piglet's Big Movie
There's no villain, very little conflict, and practically no plot; it's appropriate for sensitive preschoolers and almost nobody else (except, perhaps, insomniacs).
...for Saturday afternoon viewing and to be shared with very young kids.
Piglet finally comes into his own in Disney's charming Piglet's Big Movie.
An improvement on the loud, un-A.A. Milne-like The Tigger Movie, mainly because it better captures the gentle, sampler-quilt world of the Hundred Acre Wood.
If you're a parent ... this isn't a bad 75-minute distraction for the little ones.
Not only appropriate for preschoolers, but it also has enough sophistication for older kids.
A wholly invested Carly Simon has written a half dozen songs for the latest Hundred Acre Woods adventure. "A Mother's Intuition" is a fun tune for Kanga and mothers everywhere while "With a Few Good Friends" is a real toe-tapper.
Although time considerations have forced screenwriter Brian Hohlfeld to strip away the subtle complexities of Milne’s plotting, he’s managed to retain the aching melancholy of animal characters whose persistent self-doubt has a human resonance.
All three [flashbacks] derive from A.A. Milne's original tales, but retain only a smidgen of his droll, easy-chair wit.
Forget about deadlines, taxes and politics: the most important things in the world are mom, cookies, crayons, and good friends. And the only thing that can hinder a day full of directionless play and bouncing around is a bath.
There's no story here, just a progression of too-cute adventures told in a complicated flashback structure that will probably bore and confuse the preschool target audience.
The bland script and songs ... are likely to have the little ones fidgeting.
A soft, cuddly, thoroughly inoffensive ode to friendship designed for the six-and-under set.
While nowhere near as captivating as ABC’s “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh,” this is a pleasant enough family diversion.
