11. Steve Zissou
As seen in: The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (2004)

Zen moment: "Supposedly Cousteau and his cronies invented the idea of putting walkie-talkies into the helmet. But we made ours with a special rabbit ear on the top so we could pipe in some music."

Steve Zissou: oceanographer, documentary star, and self-proclaimed "showboat, and a little bit of a prick." Wes Anderson works have a small reputation as arthouse stoner flicks (chill movies with outbursts of action, emotion, and rad music), but The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is his only one that addresses the issue head on. Bill Murray's Zissou is seen regularly smoking on his seaside misadventures, and one memorable scene has him rushing to the stern of his boat after learning about his illegitimate son, with David Bowie's "Life on Mars?" swelling on the soundtrack. It's a beautiful and sad moment, portraying a broken man resorting to his last defense against life's little lemons.

more info...	10. Wayne Campbell As seen in: Wayne's World (1992) Zen moment: "Party on!" You never see Wayne Campbell, co-host of the most awesome public access show ever, do any drugs. Hell, the issue never even comes up. But similar to The Monkees comedies, Wayne's World uses typically "stoner" humor while adroitly avoiding the issue completely. The plot has hilariously bizarre tangents, people cruise around doing nothing but singing and satisfying their munchies (director Penelope Spheeris inserts a shot of a White Castle; read that however you will), and Wayne and Garth have random philosophical discussions while looking at the sky. Or maybe that was just how the 90s were.

Grandma's Boy had no memorable characters really. Although Peter Dante's character was pretty funny. I'd say Jay and Silent Bob #1 and then Smokey #2.

Cheech and Chong are the best stoners ever in cinema, especially since we have a handful to sit through as opposed to these cameos that made it onto the list.
The Dude is a better character, not a better stoner.

Why did Wayne's World and Bill & Ted make the list. Aren't the Bill & Ted movies rated PG?! If you're going to make a stoner movie you must at least qualify by showing a few guys get stoned on camera. Can't wait to see Pineapple Express.

Pinapple Express was a good addition to the stoner genre. It was fun and both Seth Rogan and James Franco were believable stoners. Honestly though, putting Bill, Ted, Garth and Wayne is just cheating or wishful thinking. The hookah smoking catapiller from any of the dozen Alice in Wonderland movies would have been a better referance.

I'm saddened by this list.

I like that Floyd is there though. I guess he was the inspiration for "Pineapple Express." Apatow saw the movie, and thought "What if a film had a Floyd as the main actor, and had pot peddlers as violent as the drug dealers from True Romance?"

I think a Stoner should be someone who we know smokes pot, and isn't someone who just does every drug possible, like Dewey Cox.

And, yah, the guys from Dazed and Confused need to be there.
